Lodestar is the bellweather term that aptly encapsulates the vast experience garnered and guidance being offered, drawn from forty plus (40+) years of tourism leadership in the UK, USA and The Bahamas.  Principal consultant Janet Johnson has enjoyed a storied career with leadership positions in seven major cities on two continents as well as spearheading a variety of departments at the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, capped off with her most recent post as CEO/Executive Director of the Tourism Development Corporation of the Bahamas.

In her tenure, Janet’s marketing prowess and versatility elevated her to oversight of the North American Bahamas Tourist Office Network; her vision, resourcefulness and extensive travel exposure endeared her to successive Ministers through different administrations such that she has represented The Bahamas in high level ministerial meetings and lately helped steer The Bahamas’ first-ever participation in a World’s Fair, EXPO2020 Dubai, 0ctober 2021- March 2022.  Thus, having played an integral part in the success of The Islands Of The Bahamas as a leading tourism destination, Janet brings an enthusiastic, fresh approach to tackling and managing challenges by producing creative and effective solutions.

Co-author of a new book with Prof. Dr Vikneswaran Nair, former Dean of Graduate Studies at University of The Bahamas and currently President of DISTED College, Malaysia, the publication examines sustainable and responsible tourism, on the cutting edge in The Bahamas.  Driven by a strong work ethos, Janet has also managed to carve out valuable time to give of her best to civic organizations including Zonta Club of Nassau, Bahamas National Trust, Rotary and the International Culture, Wine & Food Festival.
